fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Wayne, So sorry the hear of all your life's challenges lately and on top of it all, this sad loss. I had been meaning to commend you for your dedication to Mad Music in general, and this site specifically, because without your passion, we wouldn't have this wonderful community.
Even though I only just joined, I feel as though I am among friends, and its solely because you care as much as you do this inclusive and positive cyberian oasis is possible.
I truly wish you and your family all the best in this trying time, and please let us know if, and how we might assist you.

fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Wayne, I'm so sorry.
|
|
fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d My condolances also - life is precious and fleeting.

|
fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Wishing you & your family all the best, Wayne.
My wife & I have 3 boys out of 5 pregnancies. It just happens.
I am agnostic, so I can't prove or disprove anything, and your faith may vary, but perhaps there is a higher power in charge of things like this.

fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Terrible situation, Wayne. I hope all goes well with your daughter. My mom had a miscarriage before I was born. That's why I'm here today. Let's hope the next one turns out to be a healthy and happy baby.
|
|
fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d I'm sorry to hear that. Sure it means one less unplanned pregnancy, but I suspect you and your wife were probably starting to come to terms with being grandparents and maybe even liking the idea.
I have no idea how many pregnancies end in miscarriages. My wife had two (with three carried to term). It can be rough.

|
fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d I'm sorry to report that my daughter had a miscarriage this weekend.
She's doing okay all things considered. The docs said that 25% of all pregancies end in miscarriage. Something seems really wrong there.

fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Welcome back, Captain Wayne! And good luck with that silly distraction called real life.

fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d personally i wouldn't mind halloween spilling over into november. i love october, and for some reason it always seems to go by so fast. i guess it's because the main event of october (halloween) is the last day. so if you want to ignore the first part of november, and have an "october 35th" show that's fine by me!

fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Congrats on becoming a grandad, Wayne. As for the show, I'll be honest, with the dissapearance, I was expecting it the show to go on a three-day marathon for Halloween. Sorry I couldn't put my song together in time; maybe next year. Hope to hear the spookyness.

fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Let us know if there's anything we can do to help.
As for the grandkid . . . take it from another grandpa with grandkids in the house, it keeps you young. Really. Honest. Keep telling yourself that and you'll be fine. Your right eye will twitch and you'll be mainlining Prilosec, but you'll be fine.

|
fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d You know we all appreciate what you do for us, but please don't kill yourself, we can wait if you need us to.

fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Well, I feel like the guy who sits down after visiting the buffet and thinking "I shouldn't have take so much". {grin} I lot of work preping 3 shows at once.
Well, I've found/ripped/pulled all the songs for all 3 shows, have the playlists done and one script done, but now it's bedtime (brain-dead). I'll record & post the first one in the morning and see if I can also get the 2nd one done before I have to leave at 6:00pm for a commitment. No promises on #2 - we'll just have to see...

fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Hi Wayne Glad to read your post and your post answered a couple of my questions so I am glad I didn't post the questions. I was really wondering about how there could be request and the song contest and now a see your plan.
Hey I hope for you: the gift of time.
Thanks so much for this great website and for making demented music so much fun.
I hope you enjoy being a Grandfather !

|
fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Welcome back! I wish there was some way we could help you maintain the site, but I realize it would probably take you even more work to set that up.
|
|
fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d We missed you, but we weren't overly concerned. You always find your way back. Okay.... So we wanted to have a chance to hear all the Halloween contest songs.
Congratulations on the news of the new baby. I'm sure you'll make a wonderful grandfather.

fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Just glad to hear everything is (relatively) okay -- I was getting a bit worried about you!

|
fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d Congrats Cap'n Wayne on joining the ranks of us old farts (Gran'pa Wayne).
Take your time on on the shows and everything else too. No one can be in that big of a hurry for anything.

fjrigjwwe9r2threads:MessageText fiogf49gjkf0d It's no secret that I've been scarce lately - I thought I'd start a thread to bring you all up to date.
Where I've Been
First, let me apologize for my recent 'disappearance' - things have just gotten really busy & really weird. As for why I haven't been online much, I've been caught up in out-of-town training and house repairs.
Yeah, the house repairs are ongoing, but because of a contractor visit I had 3 days to rewire all the phones, internet, cable TV and Satellite lines in the entire house (42 hours of work in 3 days - that's 14 hours a day). I switched from point-to-point to "structured cabling" where all lines go to one location, incoming & outgoing. That way I can multiplex some signals in a distribution point. Yeah, gobbledy-gook to some, others will understand.
I also got a call at work asking why I hadn't scheduled all my training this year - more than I was aware I was entitled to. If I don't use them, I loose the right next year so, at the last minute, I scheduled my allotment of classes which included one this week in Manhattan. So I spent the week in training at that's all - 3 hour commute each way plus 9 hours in the city = 15 hours a day which left 1 hour to see the family before going off to bed to do it all over again. Sure, it's no excuse for not dropping a line to you all - but I was just exhausted every day (SQL programming class). I'm off to San Antonio, Texas in 2 weeks so at least I'm not commuting every day and I'll have high-speed cable at my hotel.
I also have a lot of chores to do here at home so it's going to continue to be VERY busy for me (especially since I only home for a week, then gone for a week again).
What's New
Another "distraction" this week was I found out I'm going to be a Grandpa!
My 22 year-old daughter (who lives with us) announced Monday that she's expecting! No, not married but keeping the baby. Of course she's unemployed with no license or car and as such the financial and transportation burden of it all falls to me and my wife. We're happy and concerned at the same time - and our brains are short of exploding. Can she take care of herself and a kid too? Time will tell - but I can assure you it's going to be difficulty all the way around for us all.
About the Halloween Shows
They will happen!!
I'm going to produce one today - one tomorrow, and release the 3rd at 8:00 on Halloween Night!
Tonight's show will have the entries for the contest, then you'll have until Tuesday to vote. Yes, there will be a voting page as soon as I can create it - later today I hope (tomorrow at the latest - the show comes first).
I'll keep you posted!
Also, give me a bit to catch up on the forums and e-mails - I'm way behind as you can imagine!
Cap'n Wayne
