Since Wayne sent me a new spreadsheet of podcastables, I can start cranking out better podcasts - but not before sorting out the missing shows on the TMMS list.

So, to review:

New "Mad Music Half Hour". A single segment half hour standalone show made for ease of production & created purposely to be built upon later, making MMHs & MMSs. The idea being that single half hour segment shows will no longer look partially made.

Maybe you think I should just chuck all the names and simply call all of them "The Mad Music Show". You'd never know how much show you were getting then, would you?

Fixing A Hole: Show 157 & last year's Xmas 4 will have the aforementioned half hour shows made for them after this show is completed. This will close the numbering gaps on the show page fixing a rather old problem. After that, new podcasts can be made now that I have an updated list of podcastables.

..Or there may be new shows of the other types. Or more building onto incomplete past shows.

Because unpredictability in shows = fun. Unpredictability in life = blows goats.

And finally, it's to be noted that these shows require focus/concentration to make. Something that's slipping away from me from day to day, so these shows will be made when they can be made & not before - and I don't  want to hear any more crap about it.

Show 223 needs at least one segment now as I've left another hole in the order. Show 157 needs a segment as well. After that, the order will be fixed and there'll be no missing shows.

Maybe there should be a Mad Music Half Hour. Add one segment & it becomes an MMH, add 2 after that & it becomes a full show. I've done it this way before.

Segment 2 has just one announce left to script, then it can be recorded. I left a lot of things undone over the holidays and need to deal with meatspace issues before I do this.

No point posting a Christmas and Halloween show, this part of the year. Record it set up and post it next year. No offense but nothing been going to plan anyways and out of sequence so why force yourself?

Set the Halloween one in August and Christmas in September.

So where is segment 2?

Stavro Arrgolus:

Segment 2:

"You Sick Bastard!"

This is another 'progression' segment that begins with the original theme and slowly turns into something else. In this case, the sick (ill) theme slowly turns into a sick (mentally unstable/perverse) one.

The playlist is complete and after more rest from shoveling snow, the script will get fleshed out & the recording will get made. After that....show 223. Then the Halloween show. This is going to take a while...

Dave can make that one if he wants. My take on the love/romance thing will always be how much it blows goats. Perhaps literally, for a topic like that...

No, I'm spending the rest of this winter focused on editing the site and catching up on making missing shows. Did you notice this is 'show 224'? Where's 223, you ask? It's Xmas 4 from a month ago and it's getting made. Right after this show's completion.

Not anytime soon, of course, but its assembly is complete, so it'll happen. Before anything else.

Once you are done with this show, you might want to work on the Valentine's Day show since February is coming up.

Here's segment 1 - www.madmusic.com/playlist.aspx?Show=MMS-224

I've never made a show segment that fought so hard not to get made. Every bit of equipment & software absolutely insisted on screwing up at every turn. I, however, am the grimly determined type and take no crap from inanimate objects. I punched and smacked the hell out of everything that fought this segment's creation so hard.

It's amazing the computer's not trashed & the microphone's in one piece....I smacked it on the floor when it ruined a segment with inexplicable static. For some reason, not only did the cheap POS not break, but it actually worked perfectly after that. Go figure.

Needless to say, segment 2 isn't getting made for a few days. It will be done before moving on with finishing the Halloween & Xmas shows I never got to. Since everything's about finishing incomplete projects, this might as well come first.

Playlist complete, mp3s collected, request added & script draft assembled - meaning only the text for the script remains to think up/type out.

God, these things go faster if you're determined to just make one segment. Things would have been easier if I knew that 6 years ago when this foolishness began.

Update 9:30 EST: That didn't go so badly. It's only one segment, but it'll get posted tomorrow. Shortly thereafter, this show's other segment will be sorted out and there'll be a full Mad Music Hour.

After that, I make up for the lost Halloween/Xmas shows. Even if it takes until April again.

So I'm assembling a podcast on MLK day and it occurred to me that another death themed show was stupid considering I had the flu for the first time in decades. And my podcasts no longer had themes, but I was making one anyway.

I must really be ill...

As I said elsewhere, my health is crap & I'm always at the hospital it seems, but I simply don't get sick. Ever. Until now. The flu must really be bad this year. It's been a couple of weeks & I still don't feel quite right. My doctors aren't happy about that.

It doesn't help that Wayne won't/can't send me a new spreadsheet of podcastables. Mine's over 2 years old. The solution? Make up a new type of Mad Music Show that's actually a half hour like the podcast. I post the segments one at a time anyway, so the shows always start as a half hour. Then more is added. Or not.

The death theme is excessive (and I've already done it), but what about a show about being sick? ...Make that "ill'. There were those (when anyone else was alive around here) who said I was rather sick all the time, so I've got to get the nomenclatures right.

Hmm... A half hour show that's not a podcast about being sick - made by necessity...because I've been sick. That's too good. How could I resist making such a show? It seems I can't. I couldn't resist the damn flu, so...

There's a snowstorm going on out there, so I'm not going anywhere today - it's very nice to have the option - so I can assemble such a show today.

After it's recorded, I plan to finish the Xmas & Halloween shows I didn't have time for recently. It's winter and there's nothing going on - I hope. Now's the perfect time. Dave can make actual new shows (besides this one) if he wants. I'm finishing what I started. Screw it.
