Well, I finally got all caught up here. I've added the latest Dr. Demento shows, Manic Mondays shows, FuMP songs and FuMP albums (until In get Vol. 49 any day now).

I'll start working on the song samples next. 10 or so a day.

I've been an early contributor to the site at the beginning. Joblessness may have given me more time, but lack of funds restricted things. Then homelessness three years ago cut me out of much activity other than what I could do from public library computers. Going back to school as a way to get funding for living helped to get me into an apartment, where I am now. But still busy with schoolwork.
I do appreciate that some are doing shows, adding current and re-discovered material, and finding information to add to song pages.

Some events in Wayne's world that I think he talked about in public include:
+ finally being able to buy a new home becoming of his salary as a reward for what he and his wife had saved for.
+ Wife losing her regular nursing job.
+ Fixing up the old house for rental as the market slump hits, so that resale will have to wait until market improves. The joys of being a landlord.
+ Work on volunteer projects that became more involving than he thought.
+ Eighteen plus year old daughter having a baby and needing a place to stay, as sperm donor does not want them in his life.
+ Joys of being a grandfather. Costs of grandchild in their home.
+ Sudden drop in his salary within a year of him getting that new home.
+ Frustration at the site no longer being welcomed by Dr. Demento, his agents and lawyers. It's tremendous exodus of members afterward.
+ "And who knows what all."

I upload some of the stuff when I can but time and bandwidth limits how much I can do. I do find some of the stuff Dr D plays on youtube and bought some of the mp3s of the songs from my Amazon account and uploaded them for other deejays to use.

I did read something about you having a painful accident a while back, as a note underneath a show listing. I wasn't made aware of what has happened in The Captain's personal life.

I myself, a long time ago, tried to include items to improve the library. The sound editing software that I bought years ago would only capture streams by the use of a "Y" splitter cable. You would play the stream in Windows Media Player or some other program, have the "Y" splitter in-between your sound card and speakers, with the other arm having a cable plugging into the MIC plug of your sound card, and record in the program. Unfortunately, for reasons I and the program's author could never figure out, doing this made the sound coming out of my speakers sound like a one note foghorn. This obviously prevented the capturing of the desired stream, so I had to give up on that. If it worked, I could have spent the time and money being a solid contributor to this site.

I always assumed that others would step up to the plate and provide the desired data files; now it looks like wishful thinking on my part.

Stavro Arrgolus:

After- and I'm guesstimating here - 2008, things kind of went to hell. Things happened in Wayne's life, my health got worse than it already was (I didn't think that was possible, but things are never so bad that they can't get worse), and the completion of plans here - the Demento mp3 library, the site upgrade and other such things - suddenly took a back seat to those other things.

Keeping in contact with him became more and more difficult and now I can't even get him to take down the Xmas stream & message (It's not like I have the access to do it) on the homepage. Life has changed and gotten in the way of the site, so it would seem.

I'm thinking that this is the reason the Demento library is incomplete...

You should already know that the completion of the Dr. Demento mp3 library has been a priority for the 10+ years of the site's existence. You joined 2 months before I did, for Cthulhu's sake.

Before Barry found out about us and made Wayne stop certain aspects of the site, there was even a counter on the left of the homescreen counting the completion percentage of said Demento library as the shows were acquired.

Specific "mad music and crazy comedy" shows that have a designation like "14-46", for example.

Could you please be more specific? What entries are you referring to?

The fantastic library that is found here needs help in getting current for its most popular subject. It's missing entries for Feb. 8, 2014; Mar. 8, 2014; and everything since Nov. 1, 2014. Please help if you can.
