Thanks lots Mr. A-Log, for your nice comments on your show. Congrats also to Marvin Braun, Dave AuJus, and Karl Brown; I like your songs a lot too. And thanks to all the millions of loyal fans who helped make me what I am today, a rich and famous geek-star! Wait, none of those words go together...

I know I promised that I wouldn't, but I'm working on a new Stooge song. (I just can't help myself at this point). Will keep you posted.

I've tried being normal, it just doesn't work for me.

Thanks to all who entered the contest, and congrats to those who won their respective places in the contest. For those who won, please message me with your address so I can send you your prizes ASAP.

Look for another contest in the near future, themed or normal.

I know I haven't played any of the songs entered for the contest and that is because I wanted to wait until after the winners were announced and because I was really busy trying to get all of my shows for this month recorded in advance. So I will be playing the three winners on my upcoming show while the other three that didn't win will wait until the following week. Congrats to Goofy Gary Arnold, Dave AuJus, and Marvin Braun for showing their stooge spirit.

Just submitted my 3rd entry! That's all, I promise, (but only because there's no more time). Just trying to up my Geek-Cred. Thanks Mr. A-Log for the opportunity for us amateurs to participate. When I first read about the contest, I was curious, and then it turned into an obsession.

This one comes with apologies to Carrie Dahlby, but I just couldn't keep my hands off it. Hope you're not too pissed off. :)

I have a couple other non-Stooge songs that I'd like to submit to the FuMP in the future, will let you know.

Taking your advice and staying weird,
Goofy Gary

Oh, and if time allows, the winners will be announced on our upcoming "movies" show next Saturday.

Good news to report: the T-shirts are now done! I have at least 12 of these suckers, and three will be given to our prize winners.

Getting the DVDs for the second and first prize winners might be a little difficult to obtain.

But either way, send in more entries and vote for your fave Stooge song to win!

The movie got a terrible review in the San Francisco Chronicle - it got the Chron's lowest rating: an empty chair.

www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2012/04/13/DDBN1O1RPE.DTL

Reviewer Mick LaSalle states his qualifications for reviewing this movie thusly:

"Yes, I like the Three Stooges. This must be stated, because Stooges fans only trust other Stooges fans, and although I'm not a charter member of the fraternity - i.e., I don't live in my mother's basement, I can carry on a conversation with a woman, etc. - I'll tell you right here that I think Jerome Horwitz (Curly Howard) was a brilliant, inventive comedian."

I've been toying with a few more ideas. I've been chipping away at one about youth and nostalgia, and it's just about ready to record. Should be done by next week.

I wanted to go waaayyyy out and write about Stooge Zombies or Ghosts, but it hasn't panned out at all. I was thinking that they could come back from the grave to try and stop the new movie, but I can't seem to develop it any further.

If that sparks any ideas from anyone, go ahead and run with it, I don't mind. It's all for comedy and fun.

Thanks Mr. A-Log,

Just found this forum, (I'm not very computer literate), and thought I'd throw in a couple thoughts.

First of all, MadMusic.com is a total geek-fest, and I love it! I tell all my friends to check it out, but they just say that they don't want to end up like me, and continue eating their pancakes or whatever. So, not a lot of dementia recruits, but we're looking for quality, not quantity. (Okay, quantity would be cool also).

Thanks for having the contest, and for extending the time. I hope there's lots more entries, 'cause we all just wanna be big geek stars!

Goofy Gary

Just a little update: we got our second entrant in the form of "Curly and Moe (Larry and Shemp, And a Couple of Joes) by a newcomer named Goofy Gary Arnold! Congrats, Goofy Gary! You're on your way to Stooge stardom!

Ok, guys, the voting for the contest will end in three days, and yet we have only one entry so far. Come on, keep them coming before it ends!

Plus, I've been thinking: should I extend the deadline of the contest so that most of you can get some more time with some entries of your own? Or should I keep it as is?

---
Stavro Arrgolus:

It'll do no harm to extend it a bit if you need to. Are you content with three entries? How big do you want this to be? You've still got half a month until the movie comes out. You can let it sit a bit longer.

I could use some extra time too. I was holding off, because oral surgery made singing impossible and I was counting on Saturday to do most of the work... and then I got booked to drive a charter into Toronto from Thursday to Saturday... Completely messed up my plans, but I need the money.

Another week would just about do it.

A couple of other things -- the only way to see the voting results is to click the "cast my vote" button (or "save changes" button if you'e already voted before) on the main contest page. If you click the "see voting results" link without voting, it navigates to the nonexistent Christmas contest page. This is a bug.

Also, the form on the entry upload page has fields for the Mad Music artist ID and song ID (along with separate fields for the artist name and siong title); however the artist name and song title don't show up as links on the ballot. Uploading the mp3 again is required, event if it was already uploaded to the song page. These may not be bugs.

Finally, the link to the entry upload page should be prominently featured on the main contest page; I was not aware of it until it was added to this thread.

My entry is hereby submitted:

"A True Fan" by Karl Brown

I wasn't sure about the exact submission process, so I posted it to my Artist page:

www.madmusic.com/song_details.aspx?SongID=47990

The rules didn't say anything anything about a time limit; the song is very short. It uses the first word I could think of that rhymes with stooges (hint, starts with an "s") which definitely pushes the PG-13 limit but in my opinion doesn't quite cross it. If this is unacceptable but a bleeped version would be acceptable, please let me know and I will make one.

One other existing Three Stooges song is "Calling Dr. Howard" by The Finders, the flip side of "Bad Food" which is possibly the only recorded song featuring real vomiting.

Well given that with the deadline one week away, it would be interesting if some of the artists who intend to write and produce the song in nine days should post a reply to let us know if they have an idea about a Stooges song. Please reply if you for sure have an idea for a Stooges song and can get it done by then, but don't spill the details until it's finished and ready. :-)

And now, A-Log on the Airwaves would like to present our first song contest! Read on:

In honor of the upcoming "Three Stooges" movie being released on April 14, A-Log on the Airwaves will have its first ever song contest! It's the "Sing A Song Of Stooge" Contest! Here's the rules:

- Anything goes! It can be an original, parody, skit, instrumental, etc.! Any genre would do as well (like rap, country, etc.).
- You can make it about one of the individual Stooges (Moe, Larry, Curly, Shemp, etc.) or all three variations!
- Must be fit for radio play. Even though we are a podcast (where everything is supposed to be uncensored), we are a PG-13 show.

Your song will be voted on Mad Music, but this goes out toward all artists with a sense of humor! Even amateurs will have a shot at Stooge glory! Even a Stooge-related band name would do (still optional, though). But what are the prizes? Here they are!

Grand Prize: The winner will go to their local theater to see "The Three Stooges", as well as Stooge DVDs and a free "A-Log on the Airwaves" T-shirt!

Second Prize: DVDs of the best of the Three Stooges, as well as a free "A-Log on the Airwaves" T-shirt!

Third Prize: A free "A-Log on the Airwaves" T-shirt in your size.

The three winners, as well as the other runner-ups, will have their track released on a compilation album to be released during the movie's release.

All entries must be sent before March 29, 2012; voting ends a week before the movie's release. So come on, knuckleheads, and spread out; put your best stuff together and attain Stooge history!

Stay Weird,
Anthony "A-Log" LoGatto,
Host of "A-Log on the Airwaves"
