I was trying to find a clip, but I don't have the time to search.

According to IMDB, Bride Of The Monster was his third from the last, released in 1955. Plan Nine was the last, released in 1959.

When Lugosi died, Ed Wood used his stand in (Wood's wife's chiropractor), who was much taller and bore no resemblance. That's why Lugosi's character is mostly seen holding his cape over his face.

I think Bride Of The Monster was his last movie.

Bob Guest:

Brilliant career move, actually. Right up there with Bella Lugosi dying during the filming of Plan Nine From Outer Space. (I hear it's the only way he could get out of his contract.)

Didn't Whimsical Will tear "I Will Always Love You" to pieces in one of his Demented News pieces from 1992? That would also be appropriate, right?

Any audio clip of Whitney doing something amusing would do. It's not in the current script; Wayne will mention it if he wants to tonight on the show.

it's hard not to acknowledge the passing of someone as famous as her, even in a small way.
she was in sketches on SNL. if you have an SNL archive it may be worth looking into whether some of them could be understood with just audio. perhaps a sketch could be adapted for the radio by putting onto a piece of wood and pounding a few nails through it (oops! wrong thread).

on SNL last night near the end of the show they showed a picture of whitney in a "mary catherine galagher" sketch, then faded to black. what will be interesting is how they deal with it next week. the host will be maya rudolph, and one of her signature impersonations is whitney. do they let her do it? too soon? they are supposed to be the cutting edge of comedy on network t.v. i'm sure they had an idea she'd do the impression even before whitney died. tough spot to be in.

Actually, that was my first impulse as well. It would mean changing the new script...again. Still toying with the idea. It's the only Whitney related song I can find. But then I'm not looking too hard because...

The other side of my brain is thinking, "This isn't our area; she didn't sing our genre of music. Not even a little." Now if karma was working and it had been Bobby Brown, you can bet your ass that Frank Zappa's "Bobby Brown Goes Down" would have been in the next TMMS script without fail.

Do we make a fuss on shows every time someone dies? I don't want shows to become obituaries. I have to think about death way too much anyway.

Truly shocking and unexpected.

Would playing the song Whitney Houston by Ethan Lipton be a decent dedication in her memory or should I skip it? I'm a bit concerned that the listeners of archive.org would have a bad taste with that song not as much as the dementia community.

I would have to wait until my very next show to play it since my next show this Tuesday has already been recorded yesterday the day before her death.

Whitney Houston dead. Bobby Brown still alive. Life not fair.

Drugs are still bad.

Film at 11.
