RIP to a great singer. Note: In a sad coincidence, Johnny Otis just died 3 days ago. Hank Ballard died in 2003.

Tim P. Ryan:

Her first hit, The Wallflower (Dance with Me, Henry)was co-written by Johnny Otis, Hank Ballard, and Etta James. It reached number one on the Most Played In Juke Boxes chart on May 14, 1955, and spent three weeks on top of that chart.

I plan to play the song The Wallflower in Etta James' memory on my next show once I get it recorded.
