My son was helping me add some old albums to my iTunes and remarked that a lot of the old songs were rather racist, sexist, and many other "ists." Just a theme suggestion, or perhaps a topic to create an "Ist" playlist, how about a topical show illuminating such songs?
Offhand, I would offer these tracks:
1. Big Fanny (Neil Ray)
2. Speedy Gonzales (Pat Boone)
3. When I See An Elephant Fly (Dumbo Soundtrack; the cartoon may be more stereotyped)
4. José Jimenez (Bill Dana)
5. Boys Night Out for Weiners (Bob Rivers)
6. 'Cause I'm a Blonde (Julie Brown)
7. Only White People Dance Like That (Ogden Edsl)
8. PC - Politically Correct (John Kunich)
9. Big Bruce (Steve Greenberg)
10. Sexual Harasser (Pinkard & Bowden)
I realize this is just a short list and many more (and perhaps better) potiential selections exist. I haven't even mentioned David Allen Coe or John Valby. There are so many you could separate them by decade. I'd be interested in what other songs other members of the Mad Music Archive would add to the list.
