I always back up everything. I have another PC which the Mad Music shows get placed on and also I burn it on a DVD. Working on the second DVD now.

Like most things, I had to learn the hard way and I had the lamest excuse- "My burner is bust". I just had to stop the laziness and rip the damn tower open & fix it.
In the end, good planning won out. The series I thought Veoh negated got found...in my external backup drive. I pulled the cable broadband connection out (just in case), plugged in the drive & burned it directly from there. Series saved.
I know everyone says this, but doing it saved me $$$ in a way I didn't see coming- "Remember kiddies, always back up your sh...uh, crap."

Here's another random thought on this. You tech savvy types probably knew they do this, but it surprised me a bit. One of the anime series I had downloaded and hadn't committed to DVD yet was unceremoniously voided from my Veoh's so-called 'library' today citing copyright issues. That series vanished completely from my Windows player with no explanation.
So just a reminder. Get that video onto other media ASAP before Big Brother reaches his heavily greased palm into your PC and yanks it out.

Did I forget to answer this last week? Oh, well...
I gave up on what used to be pop music in the winter of '84-'85 when rap and hair metal bands took over and I couldn't take it anymore. The odd decent album came around now and again, but things were crap for quite a while. Then I found that pop still existed. Just not in America. J-pop and schlager and such things could be found on the net, so screw Britney whats-her-face with...whatever large, uncomfortable object springs to mind.
All I had to do was pull up Winamp and tunes that didn't suck were available again. Yay!

I've been watching live action Japanese dramas lately like "Liar Game" and "Himitsu no Hanazono", now that subtitled torrents are available. The last anime I watched was "Eureka 7", but I'm really happy to hear there's going to be a second season of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya".
As to jpop, my likes are pretty limited to a few cuts by Pizzicato Five. I keep looking, though. So what do you like music-wise?

I'm in the process right this moment of snagging the first season of 'Space Battleship Yamato' from Veoh, so I imagine I'm a bit of an otaku after all.

So is there anyone else here who happens to be a fan of J-pop and Anime?
not praticularly mainstream or mad, but still a niche especially in countries that are not Japan.
