  • Actually, Senator Roman Hruska's infamous "mediocrity" remark was in defense of an unsuccessful Supreme Court nominee, G. Harrold Carswell. "Even if he were mediocre, there are a lot of mediocre judges and people and lawyers. They are entitled to a little representation, aren't they, and a little chance?"     Another reason I became a big fan of the show. I first heard this in February 1979, and even though i was little and it kind of creeped me out a bit, it was still hilarious. Obviously, I'm not the only one to feel that way, considering it's one of the most popular demented tunes ever.
