fiogf49gjkf0d Well guys we're two months away until the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015 and so far the show has had 10 wacky years of bringing laughter to the listeners both on the radio and on the internet. And now that we're onto year 11 I do plan on making a few changes and hopefully these will work out perfectly.
First change and this one is a possible change and that is I plan to change days from posting my show to Sundays instead of Tuesdays. The reason why is that I always tend to get my shows recorded by Fridays and sometimes Saturdays depending on how things go in real life, and plus I think now is a good time to switch days after hosting my shows on Tuesday for a few years now. Not just on madmusic.com but during my WQNA days. This won't be the first time I had different days of hosting my show because during my first year hosting I was on the air on Thursday afternoons and then later on I was switched to Wednesdays. The reason why I chose Sundays is because Friday and Saturday is already taken, MMT20 and A-Log's show, and plus since I have my shows finished by Fridays I feel the need to upload the shows early instead of four days later so waiting can be a bit difficult at least to me they can be. So my plan is to have Ben's Wacky Radio switch to Sundays and if I get the OK from Cap'n Wayne I plan to officially switch to Sundays at the beginning of January of 2015 so the first day would be January 4, 2015.
Second change is that I plan on taking more commercial breaks. I always took breaks every half hour mainly the final 5 minutes or less of every half hour. But now I plan to take breaks every 15 minutes or less and I'm hoping by then I will find at least a few more commercials to play, real and parody ads. Real ones being promos for other comedy podcasts and the FuMP, and parodies being Spatula City, Brutomax, among others. So if anyone knows any other ads I can use for my show, parody ads as well as promos for other comedy podcasts, by all means let me know and if it's all possible send them to me at benswackyradio@gmail.com. So more commercial breaks is my next change coming in 2015.
Final change as of now is that I plan to include more background music on my show. I never really included background music during my host segments except when I cut to commercial and end hour one of the show, and the only times I ad more background music is my Halloween and Christmas shows. I had this idea for awhile and plus my girlfriend thinks adding background music would make the host segments sound better which I agree (plus I suck at reading my lines as some of you may have noticed) so I'm hoping to find more instrumental music to use as background music and once more if anyone has any recommendations let me know because I'm always looking to add more instrumentals to play in the background of my host segments.
So that is my update for now and once more these changes will happen at the beginning of 2015. Hopefully these changes will turn out good and you guys will enjoy them when they happen. Take care.
