Luke Ski Update - October 13th, 2008
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PLEASE REQUEST "BATTLESTAR RHAPSODY"!
The September edition of the Dr. Demento Show's Top Ten had "Battlestar Rhapsody" clawing it's way up the charts to reach #3! Thanks so much to all you Luke Ski fans, BSG fans, and Dr. Demento fans who requested it! And of course, thank you to the good doctor himself! If you'd like to see it hit #1 on the Top Ten in late 2008 (and place high on the Funny 25 of 2008), then please REQUEST for "the Dr. Demento Show" to play "BATTLESTAR RHAPSODY" by the great Luke Ski again at the official request page, drdemento.com/request!!!
Did you know that now you can make your demented voice heard, literally?! That's right, as a new feature of "The Dr. Demento Show", you now have the ability when requesting a song at his website to attach an audio file (wav or mp3) of yourself making your request, which could be used on the show itself! Yes! YOUR VOICE REQUEST COULD BE HEARD ON "THE DR. DEMENTO SHOW!" Find out all about it at the aforementioned request page: drdemento.com/request You will also receive a free online listen to the show if your request is chosen for broadcast! You can find out all about "The Dr. Demento Show" at his website, www.drdemento.com , where you can listen to the show for just $2.00 an episode! And of course, you can still download the song at the Website of the Funny Music Project, aka 'the FuMP dot com': www.thefump.com . Please tell all your BSG fan friends about it. It's also from the new album by the great Luke Ski, 'Target: Audience', available on CD and for download today at Luke Ski dot com: www.thegreatlukeski.com
THE 2008 LUKE SKI TOP 50 POLL
Finally, something that involves voting that you aren't completely sick of yet (I hope). I took the Luke Ski Top 50 from last year, and added 16 tracks from "What A Ripoff: Volume 1" and "Target: Audience". I'll keep the poll up for at least a week, but it'll take less than a minute for you to complete and submit, so you could vote right now and get it out of the way. Don't you wish all elections were this convenient? Thanks for participating, and here we go...
The 2008 Luke Ski Top 50 Poll: www.misterpoll.com/polls/361667
If you haven't heard my latest album "Target: Audience" yet, you can refamiliarize yourself with the songs from the album at my Artist page at the FuMP dot com (www.thefump.com/artist.php?id=2). Those tracks being Jack Bauer, Wilbur Robinson, I Want To Be Steve Buscemi, Everybody Get Weird (an Art Paul Schlosser remix), FuMP-In! & "A Middle East Country, A Middle Earth Mountain Troll", The Chainsaw Juggler, OMGWTFBBQ, Scud, Holding Out For Hiro, No Sleep Til Babylon, & Battlestar Rhapsody.
The two most significant tracks from the album that are not available at the FuMP are "Just Mister Londo" and "The Box". I've uploaded both of them to listen to for free at my MySpace page (www.myspace.com/thegreatlukeski), so those of you who don't have the CD yet can listen to them before you vote. So if you have the time, please take a listen to whatever tracks of mine from the new album that you haven't heard yet before voting in the poll. Thanks.
NEW LUKE SKI SONG AT THE FUMP - "MY FAVORITE PART"
Yes, just 6 weeks after the release of my latest CD, here's a brand new song from the great Luke Ski, available for free download from the website of the Funny Music Project, a.k.a. "The FuMP" dot com! The song is titled "MY FAVORITE PART", and I think I will let it speak for itself. The music was graciously done by Tom Smith, and the mixing and mastering was done by Chris Mezzolesta, so a sincere thank you goes out to both of them. I encourage you to go give the song a listen and leave a comment there, because that's part of what the FuMP is all about! www.thefump.com
ISTHMUS ARTICLE ABOUT LUKE SKI, J.T., AND MICHAEL SIENKOWSKI
Last week's issue of the Isthmus, the free paper covering current culture in Madison, Wisconsin, had a big article in their music section by Rich Albertoni about Luke Ski, and my brothers J.T. (DJ Skrabble of the Crest), and Michael Sienkowski (of Eyebeams, Sleeping in the Aviary, and Whatfor). If you'd like to red it, you can find the online version here: www.thedailypage.com/music/article.php?article=23912
