fiogf49gjkf0d Last I spoke to Kevin, he'd been thinking of getting the band back together, actually (and they did record a small segment for Power Salad's "Grapes" earlier this year)

fiogf49gjkf0d I first became aware of The Sponge Awareness Foundation in 1996 when I saw a video that came with a piece of software I had purchased. It was morphing software and the sample they used to show some of the cool morph capabilities showcased a song called "Society of Sponges." I was so taken by such an unusual song that I actually called the company who produced the software and asked who did the music. The person on the other end was very unexcited and mumbled something about The Sponge Awareness Foundation in Mass. I don't recall how I came about acquiring their address but I wrote to them and wound up buyin the CD they had produced. My favorite song on the CD was called "Araby." If you haven't heard it, ask Capt Wayne to play it. (While you're at it ask him to play "Society of Sponges" too.) It is very odd and poignant. I feel like I know Kevin Eldridge after he emailed me a couple of times, he's such a likable guy. Anyway I haven't heard from them in a couple of years so they may have disbanded. I hope not but if they did, they left us with some realy cool songs.
