Yeah, WinAMP is dead. The banner change has already been done. Your browser cache is probably showing a cached version. Do a CRTL+Reload.

The Stream Manager has also been updated, we can now start and stop this SSL version the same way we did the old one!

It's working for me in tabs & VLC, but not in Winamp...no big deal with the latter. Maybe we change the banner a bit accordingly later on.

I have finished moving Mad Music Radio over to the SSL Stream. I also changed the home page graphic to remove WinAMP (too old for SSL) and placed a web browser icon (I used Google Chrome) in it's place. I cannot test QuickTime myself, but all the others test out okay.

Works great with VLC on Windows 11! Also tried with the Vivaldi web browser, works there too.

Captain Wayne:

I have the stream working on SSL now. The original one is still open, just testing the SSL one.

Want to try? use VLC, or a similar streaming player, and open madmusic.com:8010/live.mp3

By the way... that stream works in most browsers when run it it's own tab

Let me know if it works for you and your player.

I made some progress today on upgrading Mad Music Radio to an HTTPS stream. I have the streamer working but not the transcoder. The one I chose is really nice, lots of features including being able to put in jingles between x number of songs, adding bumpers, etc. It's really powerful, but will take a bit to get running the way I want, it's like writing a program. I'd say sometime in the next week or so.

With that being said, does anyone want to make some Mad Music Radio jingles or bumpers?

We could even put in news items, announcements (like FuMPFest), tours etc. There's a lot of potential here.

Don't worry, you're okay.

In that case, no, you cannot use Chromebooks to listen.

Yet.

The reason is that Chromebooks block mixed content (unsecured vs. SSL). The website is SSL, the stream is unsecured.

To fix this, I'm going to replace ShoutCAST with IceCAST. Similar program, but allows SSL on both the site and stream (it's a newer program). That will be sometime this weekend. I'll post in this thread when it's switched over. then you can listen on Chromebook, and I'll show you how.

Sorry to anger you. I am on a Chrombook so is there any way to download it from there. The VLC download link you put seems to be for windows/macs only.

THANK YOU Wayne!

I can verify that it is working in Winamp on my PC. Windows 10 with Firefox.

Captain Wayne:

I managed to get MadMusic Radio working again!

My old WinAMP on one PC doesn't want to play the stream at all, but VLC sure does. So, I know it's working!

Also, since Santa ushered in the Christmas Season at the end of today's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, I've switched it to the Holiday Stream!

To play the stream in your favorite player, use: madmusic.com:8000

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

You know, I wouldn't say it's working if I didn't test it first, right?

The player downloads a file, you have to open that file with your local music player app.

You not knowing how to work it does not mean it does not work.

I'll help you out... Download and install VLC Media Player. Once installed, Click Media then Open Network Stream. Put this URL in:

then hit hit Play
