I just did a test and verified that clicking the submit button with more than 3 songs per artist or more than 20 total will indeed result in an error dialog box instead of forwarding to the confirmation page. Before, if the confirmation page listed more than 20 songs and you caught it, you could still go back an make corrections without starting from scratch.

The ballot page source credits: "Mad Music Dementia Top 20 voting validation provided by Daniel 'Dang' Griffith."

It looks like a pretty clever bit of programming. ;-)

The first rule on the ballot "One vote per ISP account per week is allowed..." could be more strongly worded as follows:

"One vote per person, and one vote per ISP account per week is allowed..." to make it absolutely clear that it's also cheating to vote multiple times from different computers.

ballots with invalid passwords won't count in the survey.

In the past, I am assuming it didn't validate, and DT did the validation by hand. Now when it validates, you don't have to start from scratch--you just have to select fewer songs. It looks like a pretty clever bit of programming. ;-)

If I ever tested it in the past, and did vote for more than 20 and got told to start over from scratch, instead of getting the page to remove some selections, I would declare that terrible programing and walk away without continuing.

Another note:

ballots with invalid passwords won't count in the survey.

they will count only 1x. not 2x or 3x the vote.

two people attempted just that, and neither of the ballots had valid passwords.

If they were valid, a certain pair of songs would have ranked higher, but they weren't, so they better get my Stupid Audio CDs here to get them so they will count next time.

I think now there is some validation, so you can't vote more than 20 or more than 3 songs for an artist.

I don't do a good job of counting what I tick off, so I usually end up with 14 to 17 requests. Sometimes from not wanting to add my vote to a song I know will get plenty of votes.

Is a ballot "legal" if you vote for fewer than 20 songs? Just your favorite five, perhaps?

Well I voted friday morning by E-mail which my E-mail is: imaprince2001@yahoo.com

But I sent a bullentin out to my myspace friends at
www.myspace.com/artpaulschlosser

Asking if they Vote for me to only vote for 3 of my songs which I believe is the amount we are allowed.

As far as Richard Cheese I haven't really heard that much of his music yet so I didn't vote for him but you never know I might vote for him this next week but I'm more likely to vote for songs I have streamed already.

So if you know of any place I can stream his songs let me know.

But someone I for sure am going to write in is Shel Silverstein and the song I'm going to write in is A Front Role to Hear Ole Johny Sing.

Hey I was at Livejournal.com and Tom Smith was talking about Shel Silverstein and it was his Birthday on 09/25/07 and I was serfing the web to
find titles of his songs so I could talk about them with the correct spelling and I found this really cool webpage at

music.download.com/shelsilverstein/3600-8971_32-100792303.html

It lets you stream his music, & that is were I heard A Front Role to Hear Ole Johny Sing which has a cameo by Johny Cash. Well I like it so much I listened to it 5 or ten times and I think you might like that song to.

I did a reverse DNS lookup, and came up with this info:

"ppp-70-226-137-154.dsl.mdsnwi.ameritech.net"

How can you tell if it is a guy or girl ?

Looks like he didn't read the rules.

No more than three songs per artist. I have to throw this out because somebody can't decide what to vote for.
