They have a two-week backlog.

My song might show up on the Fump Sideshow on October 20.

You can hear them all directly from my website

And, that song has now been played on Dr. Demento! :)

I like to think of the backlog as a good thing. It means there will be fewer days with no new songs in the Sideshow.

The sideshow is great. My song, "Me and You and A Dog Snafu" got a lot of plays/comments there and looks like it's been added to David Tanny's Dementia Top 20 (please request it if you liked it!). Meanwhile, I have another song scheduled to go live on the sideshow Oct. 6. There is a bit of a backlog, it seems, but I'd say it's worth the wait.

As for new, Automatic Pilot died in 1985 (and I'm still struggling to get my own Halloween song done in time). But I came up with a track that has never been formally released, nor posted to any website other than automaticpilot.org (and you have to dig pretty deep to find it as it was never "featured"). Another version of the same song was played on pre-podcast DFSXRadio.com and has gottesn a few requests for the upcoming MMS Bathroom Humor episode. It was accepted for the 10/13 slot -- apparently there is a good sized backlog of songs submitted to the FuMP Sideshow.

karlap, no, the songs don't really need to be new to be submitted. We would prefer new and unreleased stuff, but really, if there's an open slot it doesn't matter.

I requested that song a few weeks ago. I told him that it wasn't such a b-a-a-a-a-d song.

Just wanna congratulate TV's Kyle for making it onto the Dr. Demento Show with "Sheep in the Morning!"

I saw that too! I love that song. so Catchy. My shanty, "A Pirate's Love Song" also gets a spin right before the Funny 5.

Chances are, a lot of dementia posted is new to the listeners even though it may not be a spring chicken compared to the newer stuff at the fump website.

I'm thinking more along the lines of what Wayne envisions for the next updated version of the site and that such a thing could be part of it. He has an interest in a 'FuMP like' CD compilation and the tunes have to come from somewhere. Naturally, all this would have to be thought out and planned in advance before the next version of the site appears. As for the workload, I have the time to help with that if he needs it.

I think they screen the songs at The Fump.

Wouldn't that be alot of work for Captain Wayne ?

What if some spammers started to send a whole bunch of not so funny songs as a practical joke ?

--- Stavro288
Naturally, my first thought is that we should have something like that here.

I suppose once we have the files option activated on the MadSpace pages we will have someplace to post new songs.

Yes it's a great way to get your song heard.

I'm glad I put Scary Techno Song # 5006 on the Fump sideshow because it then got on The Mad Music Top 20 where it debut at number 15.

On tuesday you can hear my song Hey Let's Talk which was remixed by The G Wildens.

It debut this week on the Mad Music Top 20 at number 11.

I know there are far more dementoids that are dying to be heard
than the amount of submissions for The Fump Sideshow suggests.

The last song on the Sideshow? David Tanny's "I've Seen Everything"
song....from TUESDAY!!!

What's going on? Are there any demented music folks just salivating
at the thought of getting some song they've written about a video game,
Star Trek, computer culture, Harry Potter, Simpsons, or whatever
fits the geek and comedy lifestyle. Got any ideas for dementoids
that have never been explored before? A demented song about
Heroes, for instance? If it's good, it just might become one of the
favorites of the year.

What have you got to lose?

Go here,

www.thefump.com/

then, log in, click on "Sideshow", and submit a song.

Let's go!
