Facts:
  • When you listen to it, the purpose of this little ditty is obvious, but I can't help but think that, taken in the wrong context, this could be a sick, sick tune. (Stavro Arrgolus)
  • Song Lyrics:
What do you take off when you come in from a cold, wintry day? Huh? Sure. Your coat and boots, of course. What do you take off when it's bedtime? What? That's right. All your clothes. Now tell me what you take off when you have to go potty. Sure. You know. Your potty pants.
Are you ready to go potty?
Are you ready to take your pants off?
Good! I'll help you with my song!

Put both hands upon both hips
Stick both thumbs inside your pants
Push and squimmer like a bug
as if your pants were full of ants!

Can you push them down real hard?
Try to push them past your rear
And once we pass the lump
    above your funny rump,
The end of things are very clear!

Now, try to push them down once more
Try to push them down your leg
Soon we'll be beyond your knees
And then we're sure to have it made!

And now that we are almost there
Won't you please sit down upon the floor?
Then pull your feet back through
    the little cubby-holes
Your pants are coming off much more!

So, now our mission is done,
    I'm glad to say
Using training pants is fun the Little Learner's way!

Ok, that took way too long. I've replaced the heavily edited version with the complete mp3 and added the missing lyrics.

It should be said that in 1970 when this was made, this toddler's instructional ditty was perfectly all right, but in the twisted, paranoid culture of today, this would be considered a sick, sick tune.

On the show just played (MMS-99), the opening spoken lines and the entire 4th verse which begins- "And now that we are almost there" is missing.
The lyrics above were written as I heard & recorded them from Dr. Demento #93-24.
