Okay, somewhat official news, I am now a KJ. . .I have landed two shows as a contractor for a DJ company doing mostly karaoke shows (but regular music shows as well) based on my personality, singing, and overall attitude. Please cross your fingers--hopefully this goes well as this is far more my style than retail and more convenient for school. I'm not quitting my day job just yet, but its a start!

BTW---I think something is up with my email, I have had a few texts from people trying to get hold of me who are having trouble. Spam seems to be having no problem. I am about 60% done with the next album. . .even though the current one is still selling. Most of the parodies thus far are not pre-written on AmIRight, in fact, of the ones completely done so far, not one is of a song that came out before 2011. . .though people know my love for classics. So yeah there's that, but I plan to release some singles as soon as all my current songs run their Soundclick course.

I was hopping to collaborate on a couple of parodies, but so far I can't find very many people who know the songs I'm doing well enough, and a couple who I'm having trouble getting definitive answers from. I am not as well acquainted as others here so I'm not afraid to come out and say it--I'm looking for some collabs for certain parts in current hit songs. . .both male and female, If you are interested please let me know sooner than later so I can begin working with you right away as this album is coming along at a very quick pace despite two jobs and school. Tough Week and A Very BAD Christmas have sold only 5 combined copies online, but 11 through direct mail and 26 in local sales . . . 42 albums combined isn't a whole lot by most standards here I'm sure, but hey I'm thrilled to have any sales, especially since the cost of production on both albums has been exceeded, which to me means its a worthwhile adventure.

I now understand why you all do it!

Also, I am interested in improving my production quality and am wondering what software people recommend to do so. I use a ShureSM58 mic (which I think is doing a good job) and M-Audio Pro Fast Track for mixing into the computer, the problem I think is that I use Audacity, I've heard through others about so many that I don't know what is true and what is not with regard to quality.

Anyway that's it for now, thank you for all of your collective time, wish me luck.

I will keep you in mind, when I have time to get back to work on my album (the past two weeks were rough, this week should resume some normalcy)
I am impressed with your talents, and also am interested in collabing. . .so we'll definitely get to work on something in the near future!

For those interested, both the KJ and DJ side of my new job have taken off, I'm now booked up for 15 of the remaining 20 days of this month either for KJ spots or DJ spots, built a rep quick, having a blast!

Congrats Dave! I also us Audacity for mixing purposes but I have a pretty good mic, that I've only been able to use occasionally, most recently on my new single "Origami". Anyway, if you were to desire it, I would love to collaborate with you on any track you think I'd be of use in :), just let me know brotha! STL boys gotta stick together!

This is just a playlist of some of my most well known performances in shows that the DJ company I'm now a part of did, I guess I left an impression

Congrats BADave, best wishes on your new career. Pdx-dj1 and I both use Cool Edit Pro for recording and mixing but we hear Pro Tools is better, if you can afford it.

I've never been a KJ because that takes a lot more personality than being a regular DJ. More personality than I have anyway. Good luck to you BA Dave
