"Threw Look Left under the bus"? Emi?

"Threw Look Left under the bus"? Tak?

Exactly what else could Look Left have achieved? What was the sense?

Nice of you to assume what our (Yes, I say OUR, because Bobby is in on this this with me, and he is GAY, need I remind you?) motivations are.

Oh, and Emi, if it against your personal policy not to play songs which attack other people personally, both you and Tak should stop doing it in your commentary, you hypocrites.
    Bobby Thornbody   Offline  -  Artist  -  12-08-13 10:51 AM  -  7 years ago
Tak, Emi. You two need to get over yourselves. I am really growing tired of you calling Max a homophobic tea-bagger. First of all, if he were a homophobe, he and I would definitely not be friends the way we we have been for the last several years.

Second, Max was not the sole person to make the decision to stop asking for votes for Look Left. That was a decision on both of our parts. I don't really care that you guys hate Max, but frankly, I do care that you've decided Max is the sole guilty party in everything that happens.

Another thing.... I honestly can't believe that months have past and the two of you are STILL verbally bashing Max. Emi, Tak, get a grip. If you don't want him in the show, that's fine, but what's the sense in bringing up what happened on a consistent week by week basis? What does it accomplish? Does it make you two feel better about yourselves?

Call me Max's puppet all you want, but I will continue to stick by my FRIEND no matter what people like you have to say about him. You are two grown adults, and the both of you are acting like children.

You hate Max? Fine. You're proving yourselves to be no less childish and hate filled as you claim Max to be by the fact you have been attacking Max over and over.

And here's something else for you. I am not the only gay furry who finds your attitude appalling. You've lost the respect of a lot of gay furries that I know as well, because of how cruel you've been acting.

While it's true it may be your show, and it's true I can't tell you how to run it, the way you've been acting has cost you a lot of votes. You wanna know the main reason we're still in the charts? It isn't because people like your show, or because they even listen. In fact, none of my friends even listen to your show anymore. We're still getting votes because we've asked on a week by week basis to get them. Something we intend to keep doing for the rest of the year.
    Bobby Thornbody   Offline  -  Artist  -  12-08-13 11:06 AM  -  7 years ago
And another thing. As far as Max and I 'stacking the votes', Emi, you told us MONTHS AGO that we were doing things RIGHT. The only reason you're turning that into something bad now is because someone you hate, someone you have a problem with, is sitll getting votes despite the fact we're not even allowed on your show.

Also, I find it a bit curious you're changing the rules of your show next year to PREVENT what Max and I did. A bit suspicious when you consider you used to say we were doing this RIGHT.

Well, she made an exception when a song that attacked me hit #2 a few years ago. My doctor had to change my prescription as it was causing me depression and worsening my SAD, which I get every friggin' year around this time of year.
    Wacky Ben   Offline  -  Artist & D.J.  -  12-08-13 12:04 PM  -  7 years ago
@Tanny: would that be that song "Dementia Hits?" I know that Particle played the song but it was under protest because she found the song to be mean-spirited and doesn't like the fact that it attacks someone who is part of the Dementia Community. Besides that song got votes because someone I guess put it on the chart so she had no choice but to play it but under protest too and it hasn't been played since on the show.
    DJ Particle   Offline  -  Moderator, Artist & D.J.  -  12-08-13 01:11 PM  -  7 years ago
Okay... Tak said "stacking the votes", not me. The vast majority of the annoyance toward you and Bobby comes from Tak, not me, and only *once* did I catch a sock-puppet (Bearnard once voted with 2 different accounts). But other than that, I always knew the votes were legit.

And yes, I do believe your voters threw Look Left under the bus. How else do you explain the SUDDEN drop in votes that caused their song to fall from a long run at #1 to #27 in only 2 weeks while your songs stay at the top of the chart? If they had continued to get the same number of votes from your crowd that they had normaly been getting, they could have broken Insane Ian's record for most weeks (non-consecutive) at #1. Remember, I can see who votes for what and from which IP address. To me, this is NOT a secret ballot.

The rule change is not really about you. You're nowhere near the first acts to fully take over the chart like this. Insane Ian has done it for years, and Odd Austin did it in 2008. You and Bobby have simply done it to such an extent that OTHER ACTS HAVE STOPPED SUPPORTING THE SHOW!! That's right, you read that correctly. Luke Ski's been mockingly calling the show the "Major Max DeGroot Top 20" on the FuMPcast for MONTHS, and even he's told me he's sick of it. Some in the Dementia Radio chat room's expressed their disapproval of it. The idea of a single act (or two, in this case) ruling over the chart for this long is starting to COST ME LISTENERS! So I had to do this rule change in the name of bringing some of these listeners back. Also, the rule change only affects the weekly chart. Every vote still counts for the year-end chart.

And you and Bobby were doing it right (to an extent, until I noticed the sudden drop of votes for Look Left), but unfortunately, and I'll be blunt, part of the blame is also on the community as a whole. My hope was that this matter would get other artists to get more people voting to try to counter your intense get out the vote campaign. That did happen, but not to the extent I had hoped. So community apathy plays a big part in this as well. I'll outline my views on the entirety of the year in a post around January 1.

And here's something else for you. I am not the only gay furry who finds your attitude appalling. You've lost the respect of a lot of gay furries that I know as well, because of how cruel you've been acting.

Would they be so quick to support Max if they knew he said this:

"And I’m sorry, but science is ruling against you on sexual orientation. More and more data is showing it is not as inborn as advocates claim."

Sorry, just because some people *do* choose doesn't mean that's true of ALL gay people, and insinuating that it *is*.... smacks of homophobia.

Not to mention Max's little anti-gay-marriage Facebook posts from October 2010 (that caused people to get outraged enough to stop voting for "Con Suite" all of a sudden). Did you think we all forgot that?
    Max DeGroot   Offline  -  Artist  -  12-08-13 02:01 PM  -  7 years ago
No, I don't think you had forgotten that. But being against gay marriage does NOT make me a homophobe, since Bobby KNOWS I oppose it, and my reasons for opposing it are based on different assumptions about the purpose of marriage.

Also, I have NEVER EVER claimed it was a choice. Your assumption that I *DO* think that true of all gays smacks of pigeon-holing.
    DJ Particle   Offline  -  Moderator, Artist & D.J.  -  12-08-13 02:14 PM  -  7 years ago
And for the record, I continued voting for "Con Suite" after that incident. I even continued voting for your songs after this year's tiff (until the songs hit the 20 Club... I don't vote for songs in the "20 Club"...not even my own)

I don't have anything against your music, and you're not even banned from the show (well, you were for a couple weeks, then I thought better of it and unblocked you). Tak and I simply clash with you over political matters. This whole thing started in the summer when you took offense to Tak's criticisms of the Furry community, the same objections that 2 Gryphon ranted about years ago in his rant "Furry Balls". Yet somehow Tak's a hateful bitch for expressing those views, and 2's a comedy genius.
    Max DeGroot   Offline  -  Artist  -  12-08-13 02:19 PM  -  7 years ago
Frankly, I don't really care for 2's recent humor, as it is too full of anger and resentment.

Which is really my only objection to Tak's continued attacks on me. It was months ago. Let it rest.

BTW, we will be ending our campaign on Christmas. We decided that over a month ago.

I do find it odd, too, that Luke would object to us beating him at his own game.

For a start f****, ATTRIBUTE Correctly. Just because Bobby can't talk if you are drinking water does NOT make Emi my sockpuppet. Do not put MY words in Emi's mouth. WE at least are two well defined, separate people. And we disagree about a lot of things. you might be amused to find that I'm the conservative one. ;)

"being against gay marriage does NOT make me a homophobe"

Actually yes it DOES. Denying equal rights to a group of people based on who they are, (and your personal disapproval of same) is bigotry. Max, YOU are bigot. That is the part that must NOT be allowed to slip away. YOU are a bigot hiding out in a fandom known for its acceptance and toleration. Having a gay friend does not make your homophobic rants suddenly valid. And Yes, we know you believe being gay is a choice, your rants against gay rights are as tedious as your Obama bashing.

Do your gay supporters know about your anti-gay ideals? Your Tea party rhetoric? Do your furry ones? Or when you are out vote grubbing do you just happen to leave that out? Somehow I bet that fails to come up. Furry has a LOT of nice people (Sadly you are not one of them) who will often jump to social causes with the stoutest of hearts but a lamentable lack of information.

You and Bobby yell, "I have a gay friend! I can't be a homophobe!" I have quite a few furry friends. Therefore by your rationale, I cannot be the horrible anti-fur you brand me.

And no. Despite your claims to the contrary science has NOT proven being gay is a choice. The only ones who actually claim that work for Republican think (and I use the term loosely) tanks.

Your same argument was used against interracial marriages, as well as mixed religious ones. It was debunked there as well. Fertility has zero to do with marriage in the US. Your claims about marriage being only for fertile couples having kids is ageist as well, and smacks of attacks on Americas golden agers. Then again, I've yet to see your attacks on Americans over 50 getting married. Then again you are how old? Fancy that.

Your attack of our wedding announcement was in singular bad taste. I'm just glad we saved your letter. I should forward it (headers included) to your gay furry friends who "hate us so much"

Personally I think its hilarious. The fact that most of the Dementia people I talked seemed to think you and Bobby were dating makes it all the funnier. Dude, you are so far in the closet, if you fart it stinks in Narnia.

And the ban against attack songs still stands, I've re written Best of Friends at least FOUR times. Believe me, even "I" can't get past that ban. If I could, It would have been up months ago.

And the anti-Furry remark I made was, too many furs are brittle drama queens who claim ANY criticism ins a personal attack, and then escalate them into holy wars, and martyr complexes. This is exactly what you have done. Congrats. And thanks for proving me right.

We WERE furs. I left the fandom in 2000. (Emi in 04) About the same time I was introduced to zoophiles with ACTUAL sexual animal companions. I was told that Animal abuse was a "lifestyle choice" too. And that if I didn't accept a grown man sexually molesting a German Shepard I was a bigot. :/ I was one of those dreamers who thought liking Bugs Bunny meant having all the Cartoons, not writing Bugs & Elmer slashfic. When Furry went a different direction, I decided to go my own way rather than try to bring it back to its roots.

So, no. I stand by what I said. You took a single criticism and turned it into a one man crusade to Trash Dementia radio to keep the same ten songs on the top of the chart. your outside voters don't even LISTEN to comedy music, they come in, vote for you, and they leave. Listening to, and voting for nobody else. Its HURTING Dementia Fandom, People don't even want to submit songs anymore, because they don't have a chance against your agglomeration of outside voters who don't give a s**t about comedy music. Just your fantasy "furry oppression" story.

And for the Record I LIKE Bobby, and I asked him to stay on the show. I told him he was one of the best call in's we had. You were never BANNED from the show. You were removed from the Skype after telling us you were boycotting us and never coming back . Until you started your personal war. I was VOTING for some of your songs.

You are a liar, a hypocrite and a self aggrandizing jackass. Its me you hate, not Emi. Keep your attacks focused. Amateur.

It was months ago. Let it rest.

BTW, we will be ending our campaign on Christmas. We decided that over a month ago.

The new rule's still going into effect. Like I said, you and Bobby were simply the straw that broke the camel's back regarding something that Insane Ian and Odd Austin had done as well in previous years. When I realized that the effect was "other artists are mocking the show" instead of "other artists get hordes of more people to vote", I realized a change was needed to keep the show relevant.

Max, Luke's "own game" was writing comedy music for comedy music fans. Your game is going to furry sites and agglomerate voters by pleading "furry repression".

You and BOBBY BOTH stopped voting for Look Left, and so did most of your mob. All at once. just about the time they were about to beat you. So you don't even care about OTHER furry acts. YOU don't support other Furry artists! Holy Hypocrisy Batman! We can SEE who votes for what you know.

This isn't about furry, it isn't about repression. Its about your ego. You don't give a damn about comedy music fandom. You don't give a damn if you trash the Top 20. All you care about is your endless self aggrandizement.

I also find your retroactive announcement that you are quitting your vote skewing campaign almost to the day of the rules changing putting an end to your shenanigans to be terribly convenient. This just keeps getting funnier, and funnier.

With all of the chart dominating going on, are there enough songs that made the weekly MMDT20 to fill up the Top 100 of the year?
    Tim P. Ryan   Offline  -  Participant, MP3  -  12-08-13 10:30 PM  -  7 years ago
I think Max's songs "I'll Lose Weight" and "Don't Sing This Song" are some of his best work to date. A well crafted parody of Mumford and Sons, put out as the song went from Canadian Alt-Rock to North American Alt-Rock and a just silly song again well crafted.

Where DO I find the new rules?
    davidtanny   Offline  -  Artist & D.J.  -  12-08-13 10:36 PM  -  7 years ago
Emi was discussing it on her Facebook page. Something about halving the votes after charting for a certain number of weeks. Max and Bobby's songs are fine, but after 13 weeks IMHO, it's time to give them a rest and let the others get into the Top 10 part of the survey.

Tak, you had your chance to beat up on me back in August over a private email, which you and Emi decided to make public.

I have said nothing about it since that day.

You, on the other hand, continue to dwell on it, and harrass me about it.

This, by definition, is bullying. And I want it to stop.
