Hey Nigel,

great song from Jon Pertwee, one that I haven't heard for a long time.
Just finished listening to an old Skivers radio program, with guest Jon Pertwee, where Jon, as the Doctor, was trying to recruit the two boys into becoming his assistants in the Tardis, very funny.

Never heard Kenny The Kangaroo before, quite like it, but today we have a new Kenny, a low budget comedy film called "Kenny", a mock-umentary about a man who installs and looks after the portable toilets at major events, if it comes along, have a look.

It was a toss up between "Who Is The Doctor" or Jon's other song as Worzel Gummidge "Worzel's Song" - perhaps that will appear in a third episode! Funnily enough a friend and I were talking about Kenny The Kangaroo this weekend - the sight of Michael Barrymore bounding around the stage in this kangaroo suit is just soooooo funny! Odd also because it started life as a "serious" children's song written and performed by Ralph "Streets Of London" McTell as part of the TV Show Alphabet Zoo - Each week a different letter, a different animal and a different song (Kind of Sesame Street Lite [also no muppets!!]).

Wouldn't mind hearing that radio show as I am a great fan of Jon Pertwee, especially fond of The Navy Lark - the interplay between him and Ronnie Barker is still priceless 45 years later.

I enjoyed the show, Nigel. It was really interesting to hear British humor.

When I get a few spare minutes, I'll do a copy to send to you.

If you are interested in some early Ronnie Barker, BBC7 is running a series called The Floggits, from the mid 1950's and I believe it was Ronnie Barker's first major radio show, albiet a minor charactor.
He unfortunately only lasted a short time, as even then, he was getting bigger laughs than the stars, and they 'had to let him go'
It is on Sundays.

I must say I was delighted and amazed at hearing that version of "The Bricklayer's Story" again. I haven't heard it for over 20 years and it still can make me laugh till my sides hurt! Wonderful show!
