Adding VLC Media Player to the 24/7 stream options & taking out RealPlayer was one of the many modernizations we made last year. Ah, progress.

Winamp has been dead for a few years now, but we'd have to decide on a replacement audio alternative before Wayne changed the show pages to promote its use. Never mind that all the upgrades weren't completed...

I always used Winamp for audio & Media Player Classic or VLC for vids. Each has its perks.

If you use a third party app for listening to shows, tell me which one and we may change it to that if there's a consensus on a format...and the upgrades are ever completed.

These older m3u links open and play on my machine just fine.

I haven't used Winamp for years, but "VLC Media Player" from Videolan works just dandy with these files, and it is also free.  It also works with Windows, MacOS, and Linux.

Ah, there may be an explanation for that...

I haven't had Opera running on my PCs since the April 2007 upgrade - at least that's when I think it was. 2 or 3 upgrades ago. Too many browsers make a machine more vulnerable...or so I read somewhere.

All the others were used for last year's debugging though. We had gotten most of the bugs when..."poo poo occurred", as it were. Things ground to a halt. There are a few bugs left - the artist page member box fiasco, guest page song page links sometimes go to the wrong page. That sort of thing.

I'll add this to the list and he can deal with them when he's ready to answer my mails again.

It's now playing through Firefox browser but not Opera. 

The show is getting through to me ok, but then I'm using Winamp. It remains the recommended format for the shows on the show pages even though it came apart some years ago.

In last year's site upgrade, we changed out one of the 4 recommended formats for playing the 24/7 stream. Perhaps we should update this as well. I'd be interested to hear what formats are being used these days to hear shows.

Since this show plays for me, that means its uploaded mp3s are ok, but there are quite a few shows that give 'bad request' errors. I fix them as I encounter them, so just point them out if you find any & I can go in & check the show info on the entry pages. Sometimes boxes are unchecked or empty on certain screens, sometimes it's the mp3s. It's always something.

Today marks the 10th anniversary one of my shows migrated to mad music dot com.
