Show facts have been fixed.

The 'show facts' are inop with all the bug fixing going on, so I'll post this insignificant bit of info here until I can move it to the show page.

Segment Titles: "Sore wa himitsu desu" (That is a secret) is the catchphrase of Xellos, the "mysterious priest" from the "Slayers" anime. "Yuutsu Na Sekai Wo Fumitsubushite Kurenai Ka" (Please crush this depressing world for me) is a line from the chorus of "Blues Drive Monster", the final song in the show.

Thanks for playing my requests! Hopefully things don't get so bleak for future releases. Half the fun of a podcast is the host!

Hmm, someone's been paying attention...

I use red to make it easier for me to find my show threads. I change the colors as a reminder that the show's been posted. I didn't do it right away this time as I got right into assembling Halloween I.

You can request a song for Dave's new show. But if you use the one-touch request buttons, it'll only come to me/Wayne, so it should be in his new show's thread. I suggested his show be pirate themed as that day is next week, but his show could be about ostrich farts if he wants. He makes it; he decides what it's about.

You might want to wait until he posts the thread...

Since the show is completed, can you change the color of number 215 from red to green?

By the way can I request a song for the next show that is going to be hosted by DaveAUJus?

Tell me about it. If you can get Wayne's attention, tell him to send us both a spreadsheet with the current list of podcastables. Mine's waaay out of date. ...And I need to drag my lazy, spavined ass to Staples & buy the latest MS Office version. I'm still using Office 2003.

As for the podcasts, they'd be easier to assemble if you stop using themes and build the show around a gimmick. Mine is "Old Fart Corner" which uses the old public domain songs we have. Before it, I might play the latest FuMP tunes and after it, I'll hit you with the older stuff. Sometimes it's the other way around and there are even times when "vampires" take over (or actually host) the show and just play utter lunacy.

You can fill a half hour rather quickly doing that.

One last thing about this show. It will actually (technically) be SFW! One of the requests I'm playing is suggestive as hell, but contains no bad language. It's no worse than "Reggae Popeye" which suggests oral sex. The noises in this one just suggest the garden variety.

This is not to say that there's no bad language in the show, because there is. It's just not in English. One of them isn't even in Japanese. It's in German. All I'd need is an Italian one and I'd have an "Axis of Filth"!

So enjoy the new show safe in the knowledge that it's (more or less) SFW. Because swearing in foreign languages doesn't count. HA! I love being editor and making up the damn rules myself!

I have material pulled to make 2 Mad Music Shows (hours). So I will make MMS-216 out of that. If I have the time, I might try to put out a new podcast. Podcasts are harder because of the CC songs limitation.

If Dave wants to make one along with the show he's planning to make (MMS-216) there will.

I'm going to focus on the Halloween shows. I have to start soon or they'll never get done in time. I don't think I'll get help from Wayne this year - although it would be great if he made one of the shows also. Then making 3 full 2 hour shows would be easier.

Since a new madmusic show is coming up does that mean we will get a new madmusic podcast after this?

And you think I'd ever play the 'clean' version of anything? Not happening. And it's not so much dirty as merely very suggestive. I managed to snag a copy of Watashi no Tamagoyaki. (Thanks for requesting that as it helped me find a plug-in for Audacity that converts WEBM to mp3 - meaning more song options for shows) Hell, I'll play both requests. And "Turning Japanese" that someone else requested. Everyone's waited long enough for this show.

The new playlist's done. It turns out the script needed a bit more altering, so that's ongoing. After that, I just need to put all the collected mp3s into one file & I'm good to go. New show this weekend.

---
A-Log:

Don't worry; there's a clean version of "Speed" by Alpha Team.

---
VulpesFulva:

Dragon Half's closing song, "Watashi no Tamagoyaki - My Omelette" would be choice, but I think it's kind of hard to find... legally. Another fun one would be the techno remix "Go Speed Go," by Alpha Team...though that could be rather risque.

I had to adjust the playlist a bit to add English/other language anime songs. Monotony makes for a dull show. I also added a predictable surprise (a contradiction in terms) to mix things up a bit more. Other than that, expect some old familiar anime favorites. Then things will get weird...

I didn't feel as well as I do now when the original playlist was completed, hence the adjustments. When I get done snagging the mp3s and get back from a labor intense grocery trip, this show gets recorded - this weekend, I'm hoping. The script stays more or less the same.

"Uncle Stavro" insists on hosting this show. He knows his anime. I know, well...blood. And stalking and ripping out the virgin's throats, then...uh, forget that part. It seems I'm already in "Halloween mode", so...

Could you make a somewhat pirate themed show after this one so I'll have more time to make the Halloween playlists? That day fast approaches, after all...ARRR!

Yup. Playlist is made - for this show, it wrote itself. This always happens when I have far too much interest in the theme.

This gives me the opportunity to get in some spring cleaning - reset the big mouse drowning trap in the cellar, vacuum a few inches of dust bunnies off the carpet, do (some of) the dishes from 3 months ago - that sort of thing.

Oooooh, yes! This one was easier to assemble than I thought it would be.

...Just don't expect too much new anime music. I'm going with my favorites rather than hunting tunes down. And if an old person posts favorites, you just know the majority of a show will come from quite a while ago...by your standards, anyway.

To me, 10 years ago was last Thursday morning. Spoiler alert: the older you get, the faster time appears to move. To me, Christmas was last weekend. Only more meaningless. Spoiler alert 2: When all of your relatives AND everyone you knew are dead/unavailable, holidays become meaningless. If you're retired (forcibly or otherwise), so do weekends. But I digress...

This show will go into actual production when I hear from Wayne. ...and not before. Maybe it's petty &/or ill-conceived, but I just want an answer to my emails. Seriously, do I need a Twitter/Facebook account just to function in cyberspace these days? That blows goats!

Good. Maybe he can make the middle of this show.

Everyone seems to have a different take on anime. More viewpoints make for better shows.

Dave AuJus   Offline  -  Artist & D.J.  -  03-16-17 12:35 PM  -  7 years ago

I bumped into Captain Wayne on Facebook and he assured me that he would be back soon.

So get ready to release those shows you pre-produced eh!

Stavro Arrgolus   Offline  -  Editor, MP3  -  03-15-17 08:02 PM  -  7 years ago

Hmm..it kind of has to be anime related. I know my show titles are purposefully vague...

If I could manage an extra segment, I could get in everyone's requests. And I mean recent ones. Not those made years ago.

There was talk of Wayne doing a 'center' segment. I would go back to using 20 min. segments and Wayne could do the center segment. He would get to make shows again with a minimum of fuss and I would get a bit more rest and have a longer show as well. Everyone wins. He seemed quite sanguine to it all...

Now he won't answer my mails. Not even to tell me to piss off & leave him alone. Bugger all.

This ain't anime related but it has the word Japanese in it: Turning Japeneese by the vapors

For the record, I love the song you requested; it's on one of the '80s' CDs I burned to play in my old, battered police car whenever I drive to one of the hospitals I visit to undergo some horrifying treatment or other.

Gotta preface this by stating that these shows will continue when I hear from Wayne and not before. Perhaps one of you can convince him to talk to me. I sure as hell can't.

Meanwhile, this is the next topic on the big list that I haven't done yet. I know A-Log does this one quite a bit. I'd like to have a go at it. This one I have to host myself. Tyro or Uncle Vyslo can't do it. They can't tear out the throat & drink the blood of a 2-D waifu, so the interest just isn't there.

I've been an otaku since the '60s (i.e., long before the term was coined), so some of these anime songs will be rather old school. Okay, most of them will be...

There's going to be a massive blizzard hereabouts tomorrow. I've found times like that to be an ideal time for assembling these shows. As long as the power stays on.

If it's in Japanese (& anime related, all requests are valid.) The point of this show is to emphasize the point. In days, the DVD of the new SBY Yamato 2202 will be released. That's why I'm doing it now.

Halfshell, if you want to help, snag me the OSTs for the new SBY 2202 OSTs and I'll add them - I'm going to have to do that anyway. New shows will contain tracks from the 2202 OSTs in bgm. If Wayne responds to me, of course...

Meanwhile, my rules state that tunes in foreign languages are dementia by default. Just don't go nuts with it, ok?

Friending function compromised. Need functional repairs. Now. I can only hope Wayne is looking in on this.
