Here it is - www.madmusic.com/playlist.aspx?Show=MMS-184

I know; it took long enough. Between last week's blizzard removals and this week's body count, I thought I'd never finish the first segment (that had to be tacked on because of the body count), let alone any of the others.

Yesterday, I completed & uploaded that pesky first segment I never thought I'd finish and the second was almost done before I went to bed. Another polar vortex has arrived and it's beastly cold out, so it was a good day to do it.

Podcast next week. No time for another MMH.

So, it warmed up this weekend and my car was extricated from my driveway. This made it possible to finish the playlist & script and start the recording.

With any luck, MMH-184 should be posted by Wednesday, but you know how my luck works by now, so expect it Wednesday tentatively, "sometime this week" realistically. Also, doing some fact checking, I found the line is actually "Somebody set..." You guys are the experts at this video game thing. I may have played them since the early '70s (I always think of Flip Wilson when I think of Pong for some strange reason), but you actually grew up with them, so maybe you can remind me of these things.

Oh, yes. The extra segment turned out to be more trouble than the other 3.
It's called "Were We Not Men?" The gag being that they all weren't. One was a small girl who sang about silly things.

As Dieter might say, "This show will make you feel as happy as a little girl."

And now Harold Ramis. Dammit dammit dammit! Have to change the script again. How many times is it now? I'd better finish this show soon before all of Hollywood self-destructs. Script is done - ready to go. We be fast and they be slow.

So now we add Bob Casale of Devo to the big list. He was one of those guys who brought innovation to music & generally made it suck less. Between the snowstorms I have to painfully dig out of and the rapidly increasing list of the dead I need to add songs for, it seems that quite a bit is trying to stop me from getting this show playlist completed.

Well, there's no choice now, is there? I'm going to have to tack on a fourth segment like I did for the show last August and hope the list of dead (that could apply to a show) doesn't grow any more. I suppose I should just be content I'm not on it - especially after all that shoveling. I shouldn't even be doing that.

I need to take a mulligan for this week. Damn weather. My left shoulder feels dislocated after all that effort. Fortunately, I don't need it to make a show. I'll sort it all out this weekend.

Segments include:

Random Acts Of "Pow" - In the '80s, 'Pow' was a thing...if you played Super Mario Bros.

Apocalypse "Pow" - WWIII can still happen at any time, but in the old days, songs about it were a cottage industry in and of itself.

The "Pow" of Annoying Arab Antics - By now you've noticed I've divided the show into 3 parts: random explosions, WWIII explosions, and the terrorist variety. This is that last bit.

I'll tack on a 4th segment that pays tribute to the increasingly long list of those we've lost over the course of the show's production time and hope that no more are added or it's going to complicate things even more severely.

After that, it should be mentioned that only the old/infirm should be so cynical & dismissive about the recently deceased. This is mainly due to our concern about joining them, so pay it no mind.

So, today I spent the day attempting to extricate my car from the latest sh*tstorm. Since I weigh 50 pounds less than the last time I had to do this, I worry about heart attacks less, but it's still damn near impossible for one old guy. If I had any kids,...who am I kidding? If I had ever been married, I wouldn't even have a house to shovel in front of. Alimony is forever in Massachusetts, after all.

The snow was/is like lead. And I'm still not done. Since I can't wait until April to sort out my bills, the show will be Wednesday at the earliest.

Did I? I always mix those two up. Christ, my memory blows goats to no end. [There, fixed.] And I added this yesterday as well - www.madmusic.com/news_details.aspx?NewsID=208 This stuff happens and I keep thinking "Alzheimer's Disease". My brain is filled with other thoughts right now - the latest snowstorm, power outages, freezing to death alone and such things.

Remember - no pictures in news stories. (That much I remembered.) The lawyers came after Wayne because of it last time. Image copyright overprotection is big business, apparently. News is ok, but credit everything to its original source just in case.

If I can remember to eulogize the right guy and there are no blizzard-related power outages, expect this show around Tuesday.

Thanks for all the requests. In addition to the explosive material, (and yes, I used the phrase "explosive material" as part of the experiment to see if the NSA is spying on this site), there will be a track or 3 from Carl Reiner Sid Caesar and Shirley Temple who we lost during the past week.

Well - as Kevin "Bloody" Wilson says, we didn't actually "lose" them; we know where they are, but you get the idea.

This show is only an hour long, so I can't go crazy with it - unless I add an extra segment. It wouldn't be the first time I've done this in an MMH... I'll give it a whack if I feel up to it when the time comes to record. I'm sure those of you who can manage longer shows will be more thorough.

With all this crap about the NSA spying on everyone & everything, here's an experiment during the Olympics to find out if they're watching us as well.

This show will be a 3 part Mad Music Hour, not a podcast - which means no CC restrictions, yay! Meaning you can request whatever the hell you want. This show is scheduled to follow MMP-28, which will post around 2/10-11, making this show's release 2/17-18.

As the very old, worn out internet meme name suggests, the show will be about bombs and things blowing/being blown up and everything that goes along with it. All the fools who lead their foolish lives may find it quite...explosive, but it won't mean half as much to me if I don't get some decent requests for it.

This should be a super easy theme to request songs for, so pull the pin and toss me some requests.
