fiogf49gjkf0d Hey guys Wacky Ben here with an end of the year update. I figured since we're close to the end of the year it wouldn't hurt to give you guys heads up on what is coming up in 2014.
First off I want to start off by letting you guys know that The Wacky 30 of 2013 is almost complete. I will be finishing the rest sometime tomorrow as I am waiting for the results of Dr. Demento's Funny 25 to see if Ookla The Mok's "Mwahaha" is possibly the show's number 1 song of the year because the song is also on my countdown (I won't spoil what number it is) so that way I can announce it when I play the song. Also there will be a Bonus Level on my next show and I already recorded that on Christmas Eve since I had nothing to do and all I can tell you is that I played three songs that didn't hit the countdown, two songs that related to a few top stories of the year, and I ended with a song I really enjoyed listening to that was brand new earlier in the year. So that is what is coming up this coming Tuesday which is also New Year's Eve so once I upload the show I hope you guys enjoy the results of what hit The Wacky 30.
Next thing I want to mention is that I do have a new idea for a segment that probably won't be weekly but it will happen every so often. I got this idea from my girlfriend when she played me an interesting song which I sadly can't remember the name of, the segment will be known as "Demented Or Not?" and how this works is that I will play a song that may have it's moments of weirdness and you guys will have to make the decision on whether or not the song is considered a demented ditty or just a plain old mainstream song if that makes sense. I'll probably begin this segment on my second show in January once I get an mp3 of the song from my girlfriend. So a brand new segment called "Demented Or Not?" and once again this will not be weekly unlike The Wacky 3 and I'll hopefully find some more songs that have their moments of weirdness otherwise if you guys want to make a suggestion then feel free to.
Finally, this makes me pretty happy, I got myself a handheld recorder which will come in handy when I want to interview somebody say at a convention like MarsCon. I already tested the device out and so far it's pretty handy especially distance wise. Not only can I use this recorder for conventions I can also use it for when I decide to record a show on the road which I had thoughts of but I can't play the songs without a laptop. Maybe while at FuMPfest in June I can get a few words from Dr. Demento who will be the guest of honor and believe me guys I'm really looking forward to meeting Dr. Demento and I think the anticipation is really getting to me. Not only do I have a handheld recorder that will help out with certain events I still don't have my new mixing board hooked up because I still don't have the connections I need. I'm hoping I can get this taken care of soon because I can also use that for future interviews via Skype so that way I don't have to keep placing my mic over the speakers and I have to amplify as much of the audio as I possibly can.
And with that folks that ends this end of the year update, I may have forgotten to mention a few things but if I do think of other things to talk about I'll post them on another blog.
