I've sorted out the details of this one. If I can get some damn sleep (typed the chronic insomniac), I'll finish the recording and post it later in the day (Monday).

(3:30 pm EST) - There, I'm awake now and finishing the show. It'll be done today.

A word or two about the theme song(s). Although "Madness" remains the theme of TMMS, "The Ballad of Captain Wayne" can only be the theme of the podcast when Wayne himself hosts (as he just might do soon enough) as Bob Guest wrote the song for him and it doesn't sound quite right for me as host, so I had to choose another CC song for my theme. Those who listen to my drivel already know what that song is.

But a song was written for me - or if not for me directly, I'm mentioned in it. It will serve as the bgm for this episode as it's CC also. Give it a listen.

These shows will generally be posted on Monday or Tuesday as I've nasty household tasks that I need to deal with on weekends.

So I'm going to pick up from where I left off after Halloween. I believe this was the theme - something uncomplicated so I could focus on holiday shows. This time, it's so I can rest a bit more and not have to focus too much on anything.

I can get back to silly noises and vampires taking over the show when I'm a bit better. This episode about 'things' didn't get made before - it's getting made now. Since it's only a half hour, it'll be that much harder to screw up.

As for the final Xmas show...there's no law saying I can't add a segment every now and again until it's complete. If you can hear it whenever, I can make it whenever. That's part of the magic of 'teh internets'.

(1/7) - It says in the post below that the next 3 shows were on the spreadsheet already. This is so, but only MMP-23 had been completed, so I let this one go to record that.

Nobody expects the change in the change of plans!

This show is on indefinite hold due to there already being an MMP-23 from April planned out & ready to go. The next 3 shows were on the spreadsheet when it all came apart. I just stumbled across it.

I used this topic to make the Xmas shows easier to make, but a completed playlist with mp3s already collected is even easier than this, so I don't need to burn this idea just yet. This can wait until I actually need it. The requests will get played then as well. If they're CC, of course.

Change of plans. Wayne has repaired the podcast function and so, to facilitate the making of the 4 Xmas shows (podcasts or not, those are still getting made), this show is becoming the first of the new Mad Music Podcasts.

After the holidays, to snag a potentially larger audience from iTunes as well as the site, I'll start cranking out podcasts again.

You know how this works. Podcasts. 9 songs per show. Only CC content and things that became public domain. Or else. Wayne doesn't need any more lawyers to deal with this year.

Expect surprises in shows to come.

There's not much to it. Inanimate objects = things. Things = simple theme.

Simple theme = easy to make show. Easy show = Xmas shows get made sooner.

As the name suggests, this show is about "things" and the amusement one can derive from them. If you know what I mean, nudge nudge, say no more.

Not just those sorts of things. Any sort. This theme is purposely vague and easily assembled so I can start on the 4 Xmas shows that much sooner and have a better chance of finishing them all with a bit of time to spare.

So if the song's about a thing (rather than a person or place), then request a song about it.
