The good thing about net radio is you can really play to your P1s.

Terrestrial strategy of trying to pick up P2s and P3s is outmoded now in a field that has formats for every possible niche.

Internet radio means more freedom, plain and simple. :)

I'll still continue the show here and I just now found out that my show, in it's recording, is aired on Dementia Radio every Wednesday I believe from 8 to 10pm. I did talk to Wild Card about it when I met him at MarsCon but I didn't notice since I haven't tuned into Dementia Radio that much. I still think when I get a job it should not interfere with my recording of the show but we'll just wait and see.

Hey guys, Wacky Ben here with some sad news and unlike the last time where I nearly quit hosting Ben's Wacky Radio at WQNA because of some stupid reason this time it's a real deal.
I've been giving this some thought since Wednesday and I made the tough decision to not return to WQNA to continue hosting my show Ben's Wacky Radio. Before anyone asks, no nothing bad happened at the radio station this is all just for personal reasons, in which none of them are serious just so you know.
You see guys I've been hosting my show for 9 years already and during my years at WQNA it was always difficult to find an audience but that's not the point. The thing is that ever since I left WQNA in 2011 to give podcasting a try when I joined madmusic.com I realized that I had more fun hosting my show on the internet instead of on the radio because unlike when the listeners on the radio showing that they have no sense of humor for what I play, the listeners here enjoy what I play. When I went back to WQNA in late January it was because I wanted to give the radio another try and so far despite my screw ups in talking (because I will admit I am a fast talker) I enjoyed being back on the radio. However just a few weeks ago I just got bummed out while I was live that I left about 20 minutes early before the show ended. And when I worked on my pre-recording for this week's episode to take my place while I was absent I then started to have thoughts about not going back to WQNA because for some strange reason I somehow realized that I wasn't having any fun anymore.
Another thing, which is not another reason for me not returning, is that the general manager who I get along with really well is leaving this year as she got another job and I do not know who will be taking her place and my concern is that he/she may not tolerate the funny stuff that I play. So much so that I decided that if the new general manager forbids me to play funny music that I was going to quit, but seeing that I am not returning I don't see that happening anytime soon.
But perhaps my biggest disappointment in me leaving is that I was hoping to still be at the radio station while Meep Morp Studios was in town to interview me for "Under The Smogberry Trees." So I'll have to inform them, if they do get to stop by Springfield, that I will not be at WQNA anymore.
And now my real reason for leaving. You see guys I'm job hunting right now and as usual it's not really easy. I figured that if I were to get a job soon I may not have the time to host my show at WQNA depending on how my schedule turns out. Plus I figured that if I do get a job it might not interfere with me recording my shows for madmusic.com since I tend to record my show during the weekend. So yeah guys my biggest reason for leaving WQNA is because I'm looking for a job and the other reason is because I'm just not having a good time at the station anymore. However I do plan to do one last show at the station this coming Wednesday I'll just need to work on some ideas.
With that guys that is pretty much it for my update and hopefully later this year I will join Dementia Radio and host my live version of Ben's Wacky Radio there. Sorry to disappoint those who listened to my show on WQNA either from the station's website or on tunein.com, it's just one of those moments where I think it's time to move on... again.
So until next time take care and remember to not break your funny bones.
