Hey, if we can have Christmas in July... then why not Thanksgiving in February!?

This show has been rescued from limbo as of a moment ago. It was always there but never on the main show list because of my not realizing (since it was the very 1st Mad Music Hour that I made myself) that a certain technicality would make the show not appear on the list.

It's back now and you can hear it - if you're up for a Thanksgiving show in February. www.madmusic.com/playlist.aspx?Show=MMS-159

You may have noticed that this show doesn't show up on the main show list page. With the release of MMS-160, it becomes even less accessible. You can use the link below or use the 'previous show' button on the show 160 page.

I can't get through to Wayne to fix this or even to change the show logos on the homepage.

11/26: Sorry this is so late. I've felt like crap and had to stay in bed for a time.

11/27: I feel better today will feel better tomorrow later in the week and will attempt to finish what little is left to do to complete the show. After all this fuss, I hope you like it. Especially since it's no longer topical.

I made the playlist for MMS-160 last week so I'll have a go at that right after this one's done.

With the right kind of adult diapers, you can do both. Aardvarks always look at you funny when you do, though. You can't fool an animal with a foot long nose.

Actually, the dump IS closed on Thanksgiving, so I have to go today. It's only open Tue, Thu, Sat. and one of those days is Thanksgiving. Not only that, they rigged a town meeting years ago so that now you have to pay for each trash bag (I was there). This place is more corrupt than Stockbridge ever was. Every cop's an Obie here, but that's another story.

Tim P. Ryan:

Remember, the dump may be closed on Thanksgiving. Don't leave a VW MicroBus full of trash at the bottom of some convient cliff--Some officer might find an enevlope buried under some of the trash.

(at first I thought you were saying 'go take a dump')

And go to the dump.

I'll finish the show after all

UPDATE: 'Gobble This' makes a better title. It turns out my raid on Wayne's wav site last month got me everything I needed this month. Thinking ahead = good thing.

Script & song compilation finished. Recording began last night. It's now a matter of how long the mixing takes. With practice like this, I won't be a hopeless amateur for much longer.

Gotta shop today. Haven't bought food since Oct. 5. There are 2 supermarkets in this town and their prices are both outrageous. Gotta go to another town to stock up. And go to the dump.

I'll finish the show after all that. If this new system I made for it goes well, expect shows sooner rather than later or not at all....

You guys did a marvelous job with your Thanksgiving shows; so much so that I'll make (almost) no attempt to play the same songs with this show.

This will be an experimental show about the food & gorging that goes with Thanksgiving with a bit of holiday humor thrown in for lagniappe. If I can make an hour-long show in 3½ days, I can prove to myself that it can actually be done - and therefore, making four Xmas shows isn't impossible for me after all.

You can make a request or two if you'd like. Preferably something not played by the others yet.

The Mad Music Hour: A streaming show half the size (three segments) of a full Mad Music Show. Certain lazy old cancer survivors can't always manage two hours, so one hour will sometimes have to do - when said lazy bastard is in too much pain or just too exhausted by doing all that nothing whatsoever to make a full 2 hr show.

Theme song: TMMH will still use "Madness" by Madness as its theme. The only time the theme won't be used will be on holiday shows - and since all the upcoming shows are holiday shows, it may be more than a month before you hear the theme.

Format: An anarchic presentation of a very generalized weekly theme. Purposely made to be less orderly than TMMS. Sound effects, explosions, bad jokes, guest hosts, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria.
While the show will never be all that profane, in the interest of the kiddies, a brief warning will be run before each show that overdoes it just a bit.

Requests: Always welcome. Use the MMS vote button on the song page you want and I'll always get your request. Facebook joiners please add a name & hometown to your account so you'll be credited with the request on the show.

Numeration: Mad Music Hours will still count as shows and will be numbered with the full length shows.

Note - none of these will start out as one hour shows. They will be proper MMS' that because of lack of content or just the crappy health of the DJ that day, the show will be pared down to one hour.

These hour long shows will be perfect for themes that don't have sufficient material to fill 2 hrs. Hope you like them...because you'll never know when they're coming. The first one will be announced. After that, who can tell?...

I should also mention The Mad Music Special concept, which will be longer than an ordinary MMS. When there's a theme where six segments just aren't enough. Haven't decided on its theme song yet. Maybe you can think of another fitting Madness song.
