[He's saying in a post in the thread that he's so done with me. I say let
him say those mean words about me. Let him say how bad my songs are.]

Now, come on, David, I've never said anything bad about your songs!

But then, I've never listened to them.

Let me get back to you on that!

A hot topic on the Mad Music Archive is titled
"Return to Demento"

I'm not going to post excerpts here. Just read what he has to say here:
www.themadmusicarchive.com/thread.aspx?TopicID=2614

Ken has enough of a twisted mind to generate support for
the topic that he's criticizing, namely, copycat podcasters
and web radio hosts, in such a backhanded fashion that
it turns out that it's generating interest from the silent readers who
are wondering what the heck are those copycat podcasters and web
radio hosts are.

Here's the story. Critics of a subject are providing free publicity.
I said in some blogger that I thought some acts like Linkin Park
and Eveneseence suck. Guess what the readers do? They buy their
songs, and discover that they like what I criticize.

This is Ken's way of generating support for the copycat funny music
podcasts and webhosts: by criticizing them to generate support for
the things he's criticizing.

He's saying in a post in the thread that he's so done with me. I say let
him say those mean words about me. Let him say how bad my songs are.
Let him say how rigged the MMDT20 is. Let him say that my website is a
clusterf--k. This is his blog. He has the right to say whatever he wants
to say. I said how bad Alicia Keys is. This is what critics do. They say
bad things about the subjects to generate support for the subjects in a
reverse psychological method. whether the critic really likes the
subject he's criticizingt or not. I'm not going to boycott his stuff or
take his songs off the ballot. Ken has the balls to say how he feels
without being in fear of being bullied. Just take it or leave it. I say
that Ken Turetzky is a better man for saying those thoughts about me and
my copycat funny music podcast.

I'm not going to ask anyone to defend me, so don't, but a few posters
are on the forum. I don't want him to retract anything he says. I don't
want him to be pressured to puss out and apologize. I'm a big enough
man, or at least half man/half something else, or whatever, to take it.
What the people are saying to Ken are on their own. I have nothing to do
with this.

People are asking themselves who are those copycat webcasters are?
I can tell you to search them off on your own yourself or ask around.
I'm not going to name names. The copycat podcasters are literally
everywhere ranging from totally geek to morning show type comedy
to whatever is in between.

After all that, will they still vote for Ken Turetzky's songs on the
MMDT20 ballot? Get your brains over here and tell me so.

www.dt20.dfsxradio.com/

If saying nice things don't generate support, say something mean
and generate some controversy. That gets people riled up and they start
acting up. This criticism gets people interested in the subject
that the person is criticizing, and they go out and check it out for
themselves to see if they agree or disagree.

So what did Ken's critcism do when he took on me as a target?
He generated support for the copycat podcasters and web hosts. This is
what a critic's job is supposed to do. Am I right about this?

So what happened to all of the scathing criticism about Dr. Demento
since my tirade post two months ago? Did his streaming show subscriber
count zoom up in response to this? Are people enjoying his $2 a show
streams? This is what people do about critics: respond by going against
what they say. I haven't seen anybody top what I said two months ago.
The scathing criticism got bigger and bigger before my tirade.
Maybe I got all of the other critics to pipe down and try to help
support Dr. Demento by going against what I say.

Now back to me. A few people in that same thread are still pissed off
over what I said here:

www.groups.google.com/group/rec.music.dementia/browse_thread/thread/de447d2356ca7529#11c857eb4e2d6d00

www.groups.google.com/group/rec.music.dementia/browse_thread/thread/96c846e6e4ad6da2#cba812ca503dad64

Are these people who are pissed off at me responding by joining the
D.O.C. at drdemento.com? Are they buying his $2 streams?
Are more people joining his Demento Society? Are they buying his xxth
Anniversary Collections? Are they sending in more comedy recordings from
other artists for him to play? Are they getting off of their duffs and
calling the radio stations's program directors and asking him to get his
show back on a radio station in Los Angeles and other cities?
That's what supporters could be doing, are they?

The truth is, I went too far in my rants and I'm sorry for how I said
the things that I was criticizing. Ken's rant about me was nowhere close
to my rant about Dr. Demento. I've been a fan of his show for almost 30
years, longer than most anybody on this newsgroup, dating way back to
the silver age of television when I got so fed up with a Jeffersons
rerun that I flipped off the TV and turned on the classic rock station,
only to hear funny songs and stuff.

This is a fan asking for support for Dr. Demento and to initiate change
in the way things have been going for the past year. We need to get his
company to rethink their ways and let the affilliates stream the shows
again. This is a fair way to being the healing process between his show
and his fanbase. If people like the show they heard on a station for
free on a station, they can hear it again by going to drdemento.com and
paying $2 to hear it again. This is how things work with the fanbase.

Again, I am sorry for my past posts.
