fiogf49gjkf0d Where were you on this day and what were you doing when you heard the news that JFK was assassinated?

fiogf49gjkf0d I recall somebody was driving Mother home from a doctor appointment (or was it the other way around... no, that came a couple decades later) in the rusty Caddie with the squeaky brakes and heard it on the radio as we passed through the center of town. This normally smartass someone began saying "f*cking sh*t!" and other such things- you would have, too- and she told him to stop using that kind of language at which time she was given an annoyed dose of perspective. Things went downhill from there. In many ways.

fiogf49gjkf0d So was there a group of kids on the grassy knoll who cried out, "Oh my God. They Killed Kennedy. You Bastards!"?
Couldn't resist that one.

fiogf49gjkf0d As for me, I was 3. I guess I was playing with some blocks in the front door but I'm not really sure as I wasn't that aware of what was on TV at the time, except for Captain Kangaroo.
Bob Guest: --- I didn't really have much of a grasp on politics at the time. Although I knew that the Americans had a president, I didn't know his significance and he was still just a distant character in the public eye, up there with movies stars and musical groups.
If I had of known people would be still asking that question 40+ years later, I'd probably have paid more attention.

fiogf49gjkf0d I was in school when they told us the president had been shot. Then they sent us all home early. It was a very confusing and sad day for us all.
