Is this where I go to contact other FUMPers? I'm just trying to fit in around the dementia circles. I started submitting to the FUMP a few years ago but, stopped because there didn't seem to be much interest in my music; few comments, especially from the core members of the FUMP.

I'd like to think the site was instrumental in the FuMP's creation. Most, if not all, of their main group joined this site at some point. It's 2 years older than the FuMP, after all. They just don't participate an immense amount. Much has been made about how to change that. Presumably, they go to all the cons together and participate in the site they made themselves. They know each other through all that and they no longer need other outlets to network on.

I expect that to actually make any money doing this, you have to attend and perform at every con possible to maximize the sale of your merchandise. Having your stuff available on a site is one thing, but if fans actually see you perform, more t-shirts and CDs will move. I'm guessing the logistics of it all are rather intense. Add a day job to that and the schedule can get a bit full, so they're not going to be able to comment on everything they hear. It's not so much lack of interest as it is, "Crap! I've got to got be at the con in Big Thighs, Arkansas this weekend to sell all the stuff I've got in the van." Or something.

It's sooo hard to post responses on show forums. Keep getting errors and have to copy the response, navigate away from the page and try over & over. And yes, I saw the double post- last time I tried to delete a duplicate post on something other than the main forum, both posts vanished, so I'm not going to chance it.

I'd say, Rick, that the fact that you had highest debut this past weekend (and your previous song is on its 3rd week in DT20) is a sign that your work *does* have interest :)

And in early 2008, "Commando" was no slouch on the DT20 either *heh*

When I first played "Clones of You" on Revenge on 5/15, I got a lot of positive reviews in the Dementia Radio chat room (EFNet channel #dementia) :) FuMPers hang out there too, in fact, 2 main FuMPers (Chris Mezzolesta and Luke Ski) have shows on Dementia Radio, and are in the chat room during their shows. :)

I always liked Rick Cormier's songs. They always seemed to get a lot of votes. You can't always go by FuMP comments to gauge popularity.

You can also make an effort to talk to them by adding them as friends on Facebook. They don't bite. :)

And yeah, I recommend trying to get into some cons. I know that Con on the Cob in October is coming up and ShoEboX of Worm Quartet is running the dementia track.

Rick Cormier, you're one of the people I want to talk to.

You do the comedy club circuit. I was wondering how to go about marketting myself to comedy clubs. How one goes about doing that, and the like.
